IBM's Lynn Kesterson-Townes blogs compellingly on the need for insurers to have what she calls customer-activated ecosystems. One of her great diagnostics is: “How much time does it take to onboard an ecosystem partner? Do you ever have to say 'No' to an onboarding request because you can’t support the technical requirements?”
This two-part question should be asked in every organization – and repeated at regular intervals. It's only by pressing these points that real change will come about. We've got to accelerate away from the vague idea that it would be nice to be more agile, more open to partnership, more customer-centric, more real-time – and make it happen. IBM
