Finding the Path

I read a lot of complaints about the slow progress of health IT standards, so it's good to see a positive report on the efforts being made in the industry. The FHIR initiative to provide simple interoperability for core data items is having an impact. HL7's Charles Jaffe says: “If you make something useful, people will embrace it.”

Yes – find the compelling feature that will progress your target group's goals the most, and make it happen. Once that's achieved, you'll be in a different place – one where the additional benefits of standardization are in sharper focus and easier to achieve.   Health IT
