February AUGIE Meeting in Tampa

AUGIE (ACORD-User Groups Information Exchange) and ACT (Agent's Council on Technology) typically co-locate their respective meetings at various industry events. The next event will be the IVANS 2007 XChange on February 28 through March 2 in Tampa.

So here is the AUGIE agenda and a link to the IVANS meeting. This is a great way to get involved in activities that lead to better ACORD Standards and expanded implementation. Cal Durland (Ext. 411) is our liaison to AUGIE, if you need more information.

P&C Roundtable

I mentioned that we held a roundtable discussion in my office last month in an earlier post. Here are the notes from that meeting.

I have a few take-aways that will be part of my agenda in 2007. Communications is always a priority and you will see many such comments in the notes.  Real-time messaging continues to be an issue with ACT and AUGIE.  Standards implementation and certification are top priorities for us and leveraging ACORD eForms in a world where insurer proprietary portals have proliferated.

I not only enjoy talking with members, I believe that it is important and will continue to convene such meetings in 2007.  Feel free to read the notes from the group and let me know what you think.

Property & Casualty Roundtable

I invited a group of members to our office in Pearl River yesterday to talk about ACORD Standards. These are the folks involved in many industry initiatives and their feedback will help in planning and resource allocation. The event also helped to synchronize what ACT, AUGIE and ACORD are doing, so we all can be more effective working together. I plan to meet with our members in every domain and region in 2007 because the discussions are very useful. The big tent events are exciting, but the small group meetings generate good ideas. I'll post more information on the meeting after I review the notes.

In the mean time, I want to thank our Board member hosts Keith Savino and Andy Fogarty for helping me by moderating the discussion.
